Storm Damage Recovery

Storm damage from high winds

Obvious Storm Damage

High winds can cause immediate, obvious storm damage like downed trees, debris strewn across landscaping, broken and hanging limbs. What clients may not realize, is that strong winds put a tremendous stress on trees and can cause damage that isn't obvious to the average person.

Large tree down

This large tree was blown down in the most recent wind storm and took several other trees with it. It would have done serious damage in a residential area.

After Storm Recovery - Less Obvious Issues

Leaning tree that needs to be removed.

Trees that fall & get caught on other trees need to be removed. They could fall at any time and are dangerous.

Leaning tree with compromised roots.

Trees with the ground heaved up should be evaluated. The extent of the damage and the location of the tree are two of several factors that are part of the evaluation.

Storm Damage Recovery: Inspection

Sometimes storms cause large scale damage that is obvious and needs to be taken care of immediately. Other obvious damage like downed trees can often wait to be cleaned up. Whether you had obvious storm damage or not, take a few minutes and inspect your trees for less obvious damage. Look for cracks in trunks and limbs, hanging limbs, and slightly leaning trees. Be sure to look at the tops of the trees too. It could prevent a serious safety issue from causing irreparable damage or injury.
